The training arm of the Manufacturing Technology Centre – MTC Training – has joined forces with leading global training provider BPP to boost its range of apprenticeships.
The partnership aims effort to tackle skills shortages in manufacturing and engineering, and will provide apprenticeships and degree apprenticeships in a range of disciplines needed in advanced manufacturing organisations.
The portfolio of apprenticeships – from Level 3 to Level 7 Masters degrees – will cover digital technologies and the use of data, in line with the UK’s national skills strategy, accelerating MTC Training’s commitment to support the country’s manufacturing future.
Apprenticeships on offer in the new partnership include digital and technology solutions, data science and data analysis, and an MSc degree in applied data analytics. Degree apprenticeships are delivered by BPP University which is a distinct legal entity within the BPP Group with a dedicated management team and its own degree-awarding capability.

Courses will be available to MTC Training customers based out of the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre in Coventry or OAS in Oxfordshire, covering the length and breadth of the UK to bring advanced skills opportunities to all manufacturing and engineering businesses.
The MTC was founded by the University of Birmingham, Loughborough University, the University of Nottingham and TWI Ltd. The MTC’s industrial members include some of the UK’s major global manufacturers.
The MTC aims to provide a competitive environment to bridge the gap between university-based research and the development of innovative manufacturing solutions, in line with the Government’s manufacturing strategy. The MTC is part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, supported by Innovate UK.
