A Bury-based vegan beauty product manufacturer has achieved an additional sales boost of almost £7m over the last year following ongoing help from GC Business Growth Hub.

Faith in Nature is an award-winning manufacturer of ethical affordable beauty products, produced and packaged using only naturally derived and sustainable ingredients, and materials.

The Hub, which has recently marked its 10th birthday, has provided ongoing support to Faith In Nature since 2015.

Following support from Hub advisors on a major rebrand – the first since the business was established in the 1970s by Rivka Rose – the manufacturer has already more than doubled its turnover and created 22 jobs.

It has also reached new international markets and won contracts with major UK supermarkets and high street chains including Boots, Sainsbury’s and Monoprix in France.

Since the Hub’s intervention, Faith in Nature has also:

  • Introduced two new conditioner products and a refills range which have been snapped up by national retailers including Holland and Barrett and Boots.
  • Recently moved into bigger premises based in Radcliffe, Bury.
  • Secured £6K in grant funding and seen a 30 per cent increase in productivity.

The company is now on track to quadruple its turnover by 2023.

Jason McNeil, Operations Director at Faith In Nature, said: “As society has matured in its thinking around sustainable products, lots of consumers have seen our brand, looked at the range of products, and made an informed decision to start making purchases from us. That all important decision process has been helped recently by our most successful rebrand which took place a few years ago.

“GC Business Growth Hub provided advice on our rebranding and with their support to secure some funding, a specialist agency was brought in to work with our team and introduce confident, vibrant new artwork. As part of this process, we also reorganised the management structure internally, and spent a lot of time thinking about the business and how it was presented to the market.

“The company has come a long way in the 47 years since it was founded and our recent growth, owing to the success of the rebrand, has been quite rapid. If you’re looking at embarking on a new business adventure, starting up a business, or making changes to your strategy, take the opportunity to ask the Hub for support because their guidance has been invaluable.”

The Hub which is part of the Growth Company and part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, helps businesses at all stages of their growth journey.

Faith in Nature is just one of the 75,000 firms in the region which it has helped since it launched 10 years ago.

In the last 10 years, the Hub, has not only created more than 13,600 jobs but safeguarded a further 12,000.

Anne Campion, Head of Manufacturing and Sustainability at the Hub, said: “Faith in Nature is an exciting business and we’re pleased that we’ve been able to help them maximise the opportunities sparked by a big increase in eco-conscious purchasing.

“Our support was key for their rebrand, which has been pivotal to their huge sales increase. We helped them access different streams of funding which supported the rebrand, which in turn has led to being stocked by major retailers and new jobs for 22 staff.

“They are just one of the many businesses we’ve achieved great results with over the past decade. We’ve evolved significantly over this time, expanding our range of services and support programmes and we are always ready to offer advice and support to new businesses.”
